and caregivers.
Services
Individual Advocacy
Personalized parent mentoring and special education advocacy services for students age 3-22, which may include any of the following:
Parent consultation
Review, organization, and summary of developmental and educational records
Research
Individual mentoring re: parent rights under state and federal law
Formal and informal correspondence
Attending meetings – IEPs, IPPs, parent conferences, consultations with private service providers
"EPIC Parents" Advocacy Training
In-person, small group classes for parents, guardians, and family supporters covering topics such as advocacy skills, home-school communication, setting and achieving goals, parent and student rights under IDEA, understanding psychoeducational testing, and making sense of educational reports and records. New class sessions are added based on demand.
Advocacy “Steps in the Journey”
Practical, focused, single-topic information sheets to assist parents in securing their children’s rights to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
